Old Ladies
Hey everyone! :) Another week in life has come and gone! Hopefully it
was productive for everyone! Before I go anywhere I feel like I should
explain the subject of my email! haha :) So we have a few old ladies
that we go and see. Sister Moffet, Sister Muehler, and Charlotte!
These three old ladies are some of the greatest people! Elder Marsden
and I always have such a great time visiting them! Charlotte is
supposed to be getting baptized here on Saturday and we couldn't be
more excited for her! Missionaries have been talking to her for about
three months and she has been going to church almost all of those
three months. She tells us she doesn't want to get baptized because
she doesn't know enough! Finally Elder Marsden and I convinced her she
was ready and now she is getting "dunked" as she calls it! :) We have
been helping her with moving stuff for her because she is actually
moving in October! We are pretty sad about it but hey! We still have
our two others! haha those old ladies do so well of taking care of us!
Sister Moffet took us out to Chili's the other day and she is
hilarious! She would leave every five minute s to bring the waitress
back over because she wanted her appetizer or she wanted her food or a
refill or she wanted her plates cleared! hahaha she finally just took
the plates to another table without people there and left them there!
She is hilarious! haha and Sister Muehler is at an assisted living
home and so we go visit her sometimes and she always sends us home
with a bag of fruit because we look hungry or tired or something!
Always! So that is why my title is Old Ladies! haha :) I'm sure it
isn't as funny or cool on the email but I don't care because we love
our old ladies! Cyd better watch out! ;)
Anyways! We have been working with a couple of people that are having
stuggles with addictions! Cigarettes and chewing tobacco! It is so
hard to see people dealing with addictions! They struggle doing
anything without their fix! They don't know what to do without the
nicotine. Eric told us he can't just quit cold turkey and now he is
vaping, but Jeff (a guy we met while sitting outside the library) is
really trying to quit chewing! We are really working with both of
them. They try and tell us that it's easy for us to tell them to quit
because we don't know what they have been through. And all we can tell
them is that no. We don't know what they are going through. But
someone who does is Jesus Christ. And we talk about the atonement.
Jeff seems to be accepting of that message but Eric is unsure. We
don't know what to do for Eric anymore because it doesn't seem like he
listens very well. So we are really trying to get him to develop a
testimony of everything and we hope that as he builds a testimony of
the church it might be easier for him to quit. If any of you have
advice on quitting please just send me an email with your suggestions.
We have tried telling him about cinnamon and grape fruit juice and
stuff like that but they still aren't sure! So open to suggestions!
Other than that, my week has been fantastic! I love the mission! I
love being able to serve The Lord! I know that there is nothing else
that I could be doing right now that would benefit me more than
serving my mission here in Florida! I pray for you all and I love you
all!! Have a fantastic week!
