Happy Late Easter!I hope everyone was able to have a wonderful Easter! I know mine was amazing! What better way to celebrate Christ than to listen to his Prophets and Apostles! :) I wish I could tell you which talk was my favorite but it would be too difficult to narrow down. The main theme I was catching was about Families and Marriage! What a wonderful topic! It reminds me of that quote of the definition of a missionary. Someone who leaves his family for two years so others can be together for eternity? Something like that, right? I am grateful to be doing that work!
This week was a great week! We had a lot of biking going on which was fun! Definitely a lot of sweat! But still had a great time! We were working hard to help as many people as possible to be made aware of Because He Lives! The great Easter video the church released! If you have not seen it, it is definitely worth your time! It is an easy way to share the gospel and to help others feel the spirit! Even when you show the video on the side of the street, they can still feel the spirit. A few fun biking stories!! So one of these days last week.. Who knows what day? But it had been a little bit of a longer day. So I was tired and this that and the other. But as we were biking up a hill we were about to pass a guy walking on the sidewalk. He had a leash for his dog in one hand and a lemonade or something refreshing in his other. I offered him a Because He Lives pass along card but was denied because he said his hands were too full. Well I knew that he wouldn't be happy if he got up to heaven and wasn't able to go to the Celestial Kingdom because his hands were full! So I stuck the card in his shirt pocket! He didn't like that though.. He yelled at me and said he didn't want it! Yeah.. That was fun! haha that was fun to write in case you weren't sure. Another fun biking story though!! We were biking just outside of Downtown Clearwater. There was a couple of guys walking down the sidewalk with their case of beers and had already had a few. They were drunk to say the least. We didn't really want to start anything with them so we just said hello and kept going. One asked if we had money and started to chase us. haha! It was one of the funniest things ever! We decided to bike just fast enough so he couldn't catch us and he kept chasing us! hahaha he probably chased us for at least a mile! We had a good laugh over that! :) Anyways.. Conference was great!! We biked to the church and was able to watch it there. In between the Saturday Morning and Afternoon Elder Williams and I was able to go to lunch with my last companion Elder Lake and his companion, Elder Nettleton! That was really fun! Blessings of being in the neighboring area!! haha Good week! Lots of blessings and miracles!! I love you all! I invite you to review conference talks once more! You will be greatly blessed with more revelation than initially received! Have a great week! :) Baptism!!Hey everyone!! Not a whole lot of time! But we had a baptism!! Tyler was baptized by his older brother Mark!! Mark got the priesthood last week but was baptized a year ago so it was great working with them!! Not much else happened this week! MLC at the beach was changed to MLC at the church... Stupid Florida and it's rain.. But it was still a great meeting! I love you all!!
Another week down!Well another week down! Another one to come! Looking forward to what lays ahead!
This week was pretty great but not a whole lot to report. We have been seeing one of our investigators that we are now expecting to be baptized this week! His hold up was his Brother that was baptized last year had not received the priesthood and we have been working with him to progress to receiving the priesthood. He was able to receive the priesthood yesterday and will now be able to baptize his brother. We are really looking forward to that on Saturday!! We have been trying to help out a lot of the less actives and the prospective elders so our teaching pool is not the largest but it sure has been amazing helping them out to progress towards that. The Lord is hastening his work in multiple different ways and I am so grateful that I am able to be apart of it! This Friday we will be having MLC again and we are really excited for that! We are planning to have that on the beach if weather permits! So be praying for good weather as well! We haven't been able to go to a game yet but we are definitely going to try and work it out for next Monday! I don't know how I could be serving in Clearwater with two fields and not make it to a Spring Training game! hahaha! Hopefully everything works out! If not! Oh well! That's pretty much all I have for this week! Thank you! I love you! Staying! This week was "T-Mail" or also known as transfer emails! haha and I am staying in the land where the water is clear!! I am pretty excited to be staying! We are hopefully having a baptism this week! So be praying for that one to happen! :)
This week was kind of a longer week! We had a good P-day but didn't do much. On Tuesday we had Zone Training Meeting! That was pretty good! We had to train on being safe with the iPads and what we can do when we start to lose focus! It went pretty well and it made for some really fun role plays! :) Wednesday was a pretty rough day! Pretty much all of our lessons fell through so that really slowed the day down. Then we started to try and visit some members and we were told by a family they didn't have time for us! haha Elder Williams and I pretty much just wanted to go to bed after that one and it was only about 3ish in the afternoon! haha Oh well! :) What can you do? Thursday was spent doing fun stuff like weekly planning! haha yeah.. Not so fun! But it is still good! Planning is really important! SO do it! Friday was a pretty good day! We taught a couple of lessons in the morning and headed over to Gulfport and Seminole for exchanges! I was in Gulfport which is a full bike area so I was reminded of how wonderful full bike is! haha there is some sarcasm behind that comment! :) Biking in Florida just equals a lot of sweat! Just in case you were wondering! haha :) Saturday Morning we had a service project which was pretty awesome! we were down in the swamps picking up trash! haha Climbing through the branches, all that good stuff! :) Then the rest of the day was filled with nothing very exciting. Just a lot of driving! All is well! :) Sunday was Ward Conference and we got to listen to a future General Authority! The Stake President here is so amazing! IT is pretty sweet! :) But yeah! That's pretty much my week! I hope you all have a great week! I love you all! Elder Terry Daylight savings :/Daylight Savings is no fun!! haha! Waking up at 5:50 to go running is a lot harder when 5:50 used to be 4:50! haha :) But that's ok! Going to bed at 10:30 is better when is used to be 9:30! I hope I confused you because I think I confused myself!
We had a good week this week! We met some great people, we are continuing to help people with the Word of Wisdom, and doing what we can to help the Zone! We had another MLC meeting this week to discuss what we will be doing for the March District Meetings. President Cusick ended up talking for a few hours on planning! I have never looked at planning as such an important principle. I am definitely in the conversion process of planning! This week we will also be doing a Zone Training Meeting on being safe with your iPad. The church put together a lot of really great booklets, videos, etc., on how we can keep ourselves out of danger with the iPads. It is interesting how much trust they put in us. The 12 really want us to be able to control ourselves out here because when we get home we won't have the different restrictions on our brand new iPhone's or iPads. The mission is really a huge life training.. It is amazing! Elder Williams and I are working on getting some tickets to go to one of the Spring Training Games. On Sunday we met a pitcher for the Blue Jays! He was at church and we were talking to him and he gave us his number! We are going to call him when the Blue Jays and Yankees are in town! ;) I love seeing all of the different baseball fields! Reminds me of the great memories I have been able to make through the years! It also makes me excited because I know I am making so many new memories of my mission that I will be able to look back on! Everything is well in Clearwater! I love hearing from everyone and anyone! My parents have my address so feel free to send off a letter! :) We aren't even special enough to get the weekly ads! So just send a little message my way! :) I love you all! Have a fantastic week! Elder Terry The Sunshine!Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week! :) My week was filled with a lot of different things and it was pretty good. We had Elder Zwick and his awesome wife in our Mission for the week and it was such a blessing to have them giving us such great trainings!
We got a few different things done this last week that was really fun! On Monday we were able to go to Clearwater Beach and go to some of the stores there! Didn't get much because they are tourist shops and lots of money but it a really great area! We also had the chance to go to an Mission Leadership Training with Elder Zwick and his wife. This specific training was focused on how we could be better Leaders. It was really amazing and I learned so much! I just wish we had enough time to review through some notes so we knew everything we learned! We also had a Zone Conference that Elder Zwick and his wife attended which was an amazing experience. The Zone Conference was followed by a Devotional that evening with the Ward Council's there. We received so many great trainings! Something else that was going on this week was teaching!! We have our recent convert/less active to quit smoking again! He finished the week long program that is covered with that. We also helped his younger brother that has a baptismal date for the 22 of March to quit smoking as well. He officially quit smoking last Thursday so could definitely use your prayers! Their names are Mark and Tyler! We also have started to work with a great lady named Lane! She works at our apartment complex and we had such an amazing lesson with her! We have been able to build a great relationship already just by visiting with her but we finally were able to teach her last week. She loved the Restoration and we are praying about a baptismal date for her so include her in your prayers as well. I love you all and I am so grateful for all that you have done for me or you are doing for me! I appreciate the prayers that are sent out for me! Definitely couldn't have made it through this last week without them! It has been a really stressful week with another stressful one looking ahead! But I couldn't be happier than where I am right now! Oh! and the Sunshine? While many of you in Utah are experiencing snow, it is over 80 degrees here in Florida right now! I love you! Have a great week! Great week!We had a great week here in Clearwater!!
Teaching some really great people! We are teaching Nick and Eric, they are kids that want to be baptized!! But they are waiting until they move to California and they can be baptized by their uncle. They are still really awesome and we have had a blast teaching them! They are so funny! We are also teaching a guy named Tyler! He is going to be working on some WofW problems so keep him in your prayers this week along with his brother Mark who is an RC who will be working on WofW as well. Life is pretty busy! Tuesday's are crazy because Elder Williams and I have to go to both District Meetings in the Zone.. So one meeting at 10 and drive an hour and another at 1! It is a lot of driving for Tuesdays! haha but it is awesome because we get to go to 2 district meetings! Fun. fun! Other than that. Life is simple! Missionary work is fun! I am loving the work! :) I love you all and thank you for your support! Elder Terry In the land where the water is clearYes that is right! haha I am now in Clearwater which is pretty much the city just south of Palm Harbor. But that is ok! I am serving with Elder Williams! He is from Layton, UT! We have a pretty good time! :)
This last week was a pretty good week! On Monday the ward had a spaghetti dinner that was Valentines Day themed but the main focus was Missionary Work! The best focus to have! :) That went super well and we were able to talk a little bit about a thing the mission has called the Member Missionary Menu. It just has a bunch of different things that helps the members know some things that they can do for missionary work. It seems to be helping out a lot which is great! :) Tuesday was spent with going to a couple district meetings in the Zone which was pretty fun! haha But it takes up a lot of the day. We finished the day by moving in to our new apartment! Exciting! haha :) It is really expensive to move in though.. You have nothing and have to get quite a bit of stuff. But it was great and we are just grateful not to be homeless! :) We have been going around to see a lot of the members and trying to get to know them and to seek referrals. It has been really great to get to know all these people! We received one referral from a recent convert and he has a desire to quit smoking! He said he wants to so we said we would help him out with that of course! haha :) These next two weeks we are expecting some special guests for some meetings so that is really exciting! :) Looking forward to that! I love you all! Have a great week! |
